The contemporary style of this delicate yet show-stopping necklace elegantly incorporates classical elements. The pearls in the necklace include a subtle range of colors from blues to greens and even deep purples, browns and golds with an overall 'sea' tonality. The necklace includes semiprecious stone beads in onyx and lava. The chain is italian resin and all elements are attached with sterling silver findings. The necklace features several antiqued italian sterling silver medallions including one reproducing an original Etruscan jewel depicting mythological god 'janus'. Janus represents new beginnings and the end of the old and the start of the new and gives it's name to the month 'January'.  Another medallion depicts Nike, the goddess of victory.  A hand-carved stone pendant depicting a black panther represents feminine energies. A small oval shaped medallion shows one of the triumphant horses of St. Marks cathedral in Venice.  Includes a sterling silver clasp allowing you to open the chain and wear the necklace in numerous ways.
